Ron Wilkinson

AKA: "The Kansas City Kid"

Rhythm guitar and Vocals

Started his love for music in Hutchinson, Kansas as a young teen with no real passion to perform it yet. After getting serious in the late 70’s he packed a suitcase and his guitar and took a bus to Los Angeles. He spent the next 2 decades working with bands such as, Railroad - Southern Star - Richard Warren/The Wild West Show - Kountry Misfits and Loose Noose, playing everything from Merle Haggard to Pink Floyd to Nat King Cole in five states of the West and learning the ins and outs of the entertainment business. In early 2000 Ron decided to move back to the Mid-West and the music Hub of legendary Kansas City where he joined forces with a blues/rock band called The Fabulous Bolt Ons for a successful five year run playing the same clubs made famous by BB King - Charlie Parker and Pat Metheny. When he was offered the opportunity to try out northern California he went back west and started working with a group of musicians called The Checkered Demons and concentrated on his back up guitar and vocal skills. His desire for a dryer climate has now brought him to the desert area of Lake Havasu City and he, Paul and Ross are RoadBlock.

Ross Gladwin

AKA: "Post Man"

Bass Guitar and Vocals

Discovered his interest in music in 4th grade and joined the school band program playing the bassoon and later switched to trombone. He soon developed an interest in the guitar and started taking lessons. Ross learned to appreciate many styles of music using wind instruments and string instruments. He loved folk, rock, country, classical and jazz. His interest in the syncopation's of jazz led him to play rhythm guitar in the jazz band. In high school, Ross continued playing the trombone in the marching band, as well as concert band, however, he still loved playing guitars. Music was now in his blood and he began putting groups together with several other musicians. He joined the jazz band in high school as one of two rhythm guitar players. There were two guitar players and no bass. At the suggestion of Director Wes Humphrey, he decided to try his hand at playing bass guitar. That was all it took to get him hooked on bass guitar. You can still hear those styles he learned then in his Bass today. Along the way Ross also developed an interest in electronics and recording and took those into college. While studying telecommunications at NAU, Ross had the chance to make music connections and spend time in recording studios. During a break Ross joined a country band called Excursion gaining valuable live experience. After college Ross spent several years on the radio as an on air talent and production specialist for local radio and TV stations. After several attempts at putting a band together in a limited market, Ross co-founded the classic rock band BaddApple. They played the Colorado River Valley from 2000 until 2011. They placed 3rd out of 21 bands at the Colorado Belle Casino's "Battle of the Bands" in 2003. Ross is pleased to have teamed up with Ron and Paul and they are RoadBlock.

Paul Middleton
AKA: "Wild Man"
Guitar - Mandolin and Vocals

Picking up the guitar for the first time at age 17, in 1972, in Ventura, CA Paul's first interest in music was sparked by high school buddies. With no professional training he would hear music, pick out the melodies on his guitar, and developed his ability to play by ear. It would be years later, in a move that brought him back to his musical roots, reuniting with those same friends from earlier days, he was introduced to bluegrass music. What ensued was jam sessions daily that lasted to the wee hours of the morning, in what was nicknamed “the shop,” a converted shed where friends gathered to play. It was here that Paul picked up the mandolin for the first time and his own style was born. He got the opportunity to jam with the likes of “Scooter,” the Cherokee fiddler coined from the lyrics of the country song written by Michael Martin Murphy, popularized by Johnny Lee in 1982 where it was in the country top 10.  After spending a week in Colorado, playing for the Silverton Train jamming with his friends Paul was hooked on “playing tunes” anytime and anywhere. Three months after picking up the Mandolin Paul was asked to join the bluegrass band Spring Mountain Harmony based in Porterville, CA where they performed everywhere from county fairs, local venues around the San Joaquin Valley to Knotts Berry Farm and Grass Valley Bluegrass Festival. Raising his family and overcoming his battle with addiction distanced Paul from music for many years. In 2012, moved by the lyrics of John Prine and his favorite way to play music, "jamming with strangers,” he once again picked up his mandolin and guitar and in 2016, much to his good fortune he met up with Ron and Ross, turning fruitful jams into RoadBlock, offering a unique blend of styles, playing nostalgic songs for people of all generations to enjoy.

Steve Stancati

AKA: "The Former Az. Home Wrecker and Heartbreaker"

PERCUSSION AND VOCALS

Steve started out playing drums at 8 and after beating up everything in the house by age 10 his parents decided to buy him his first set of drums. Great idea huh?

Steve played in Elementary School, Jr. High and High School bands and developed a love for live music. His first band was "ICE COLD SWEAT" and soon after it was formed he

joined Uncle Sam's Army. He played in different groups during that time and after 4 years he came home and started playing in his church which he continued to do for 3 years.

In the early 90's he played in a band called "HAVASU BLUES" for a year and then joined

a band doing Motown Music called "COLD SWEAT", yes hard to believe in this area but true. He then joined a rock and roll band called "PHREEBEHRE" (Free Beer) which lasted

about 2 years and then came Bad Apple. Which ended up being "BADDAPPLE".

Steve teamed up with Ross Gladwin and co-founded the classic rock band BaddApple.

They played the Colorado River Valley from 2000 until 2011. They placed

3rd out of 21 bands at the Colorado Belle Casino's "Battle of the Bands" in 2003.

After that Steve played with "CLASSIC OLD SCHOOL" for a short time.

He has been playing with his local church and The LHC SYMPHONIC WINDS for

over 5 years and will continue to do so and now Steve is pleased to have once again

teamed up with Ross and with Ron and Paul are the founding members of The Road Block Band.
